On a chilly Halloween afternoon, I met with Ali and her fiancé for a maternity session. We did photos at Studio Three, with Grand Rapids Studio Space, I chose this studio location specifically for the bed that was at the studio. And there is this really pretty moveable wall with a wooded background, and I just had a vision for the way I wanted this session to look. I wanted it to be comfy, and light, and airy. I didn't want too much going on in the background, I really wanted to be able to catch their relationship and I think I did that. Ali and I used to go to middle school together, and were best friends. But as always you make other friends in high school and have different experiences, we kind of lost touch but has always been nice to each other. So when she posted that she wanted a photographer for maternity photos, I was quick to jump in her inbox so we could catch up and take some beautiful photos. It's so crazy to think of us as adults now having children, getting married, and accomplishing so many other things as well. It feels just like yesterday we were in my dads living room dancing around, or going to the skating rink to hangout.

I'm so incredibly happy for these two and their growing little family. I know Ali will be a wonderful mother, and can tell how excited she is to meet her new little one!
